2010 Summer President's Message

Hello Parents and Players,
The soccer season is well underway, with the usual unpredictable Wisconsin weather.  I hope you are enjoying the games, watching your daughters and sons have success and trying to stay warm or cool depending on the day.

“Good things” are happening at Oshkosh United!  Many of our teams have been playing on weekends in tournaments already and have had great success.  The Reddan Tournament  in Verona was dominated by four of our teams with the U11 and U13 boys and U12 and U13 girls teams all winning their divisions at that tournament.  There’s over 160  teams that competed in that tourney and we had four teams win their respective championships!  The U15 and U16 boy’s state teams made it to the State Cup held in Appleton Memorial weekend.

Our Tournament Director, Randy Campbell has everything in place for the Oshkosh on the Water Tournament.  Besides soccer games, the Milwaukee Wave will be onsite running clinics and giving away merchandise throughout the weekend with many more family oriented activities available.  Sign up on our website to receive tournament scores texted to you automatically!  Randy has worked tirelessly to make sure this will be a great tournament.  Of course, we need volunteers to make this a great tournament, so please volunteer your time when called upon.

Lastly, we will be holding our soccer tryouts June 26 & 27th at Winnebago County Park.  You can begin signing up for tryouts on June7th through our website.

As promised, my phone is always on with any questions you may have.  I look forward to continuing many more “good things” for our kids, community and competitive soccer in Oshkosh!

As important information gathers for each team, you will be able to include it on the team page for all team parents - at a single central location - to make sure everyone gets the same information when they need it and as often as they need it!

2010 Oshkosh on the Water Tournament

Randy Campbell, the new 2010 Oshkosh On the Water Tournament Director is pulling a team together to organize and build new ideas for the upcoming tournament. Your ideas are important! It's not too early to volunteer to be a part of the upcoming tournament. We need you! Contact Lisa Weiher, Volunteer Coordinator or Randy Campbell today!

"It's been an exciting transition!" says Steve Finley, PR and Web Coordinator. A recent training session for Team Reps took place. Eleven people showed for the training session that provided instructions in how to update and add content to the team pages throughout the season. Randy Campbell, Tournament Director and Team Rep for the U15 Boys White team was the first to post to the team page! Congratulations Randy!

The coaches section is also set up for the coaching staff to add and edit content. The whole purpose is to keep the site ALIVE! This is a tremendous step forward in allowing what web folks call 'viral growth' of the site - utilizing a team approach to growth and creativity.

Steve is looking for a team of people to manage website growth. If you have experience with Word, HTML, video, photography or, can use a paint program and would like to be part of the exciting growth of this site, please contact Steve today!
