How does Football compare to Soccer?

Football Decisions

•Coach calls in play
•QB decides who to pass to
•Most other players have set role to play
•Wide receivers run a route, lineman block a specific person

Soccer Decisions

•No timeouts – free flowing game
•Every single player has to be able to be the “quarterback”
•Players have to make decisions when they have the ball and when they don’t
•No timeouts – free flowing game
•Every single player has to be able to be the “quarterback”
•Players have to make decisions when they have the ball and when they don’t

•Soccer is a game for the players

•We need our players to be able to make decisions for themselves
•They will succeed at learning to “think on their feet” only if we allow them to make mistakes and grow on their own
•At the highest level the skill level of most players is very comparable, what separates them his how quickly they can make decisions
•The goal of our club is to develop the skills players need to be successful in any playing environment.
Individual skill development is the most important aspect of our player development program.
